Mr. Stephen Tomaszewski

Stephen Tomaszewski brings more than 15 years of experience in education, athletics, coaching, and youth development to his role as Athletic Director at Pocono Mountain West High School. His career has centered on developing students both in the classroom and through meaningful co-curricular and athletic experiences.

Prior to joining Pocono Mountain West, Tomaszewski served as Director of Athletics at Bethlehem Catholic High School from July 2024 through June 2026, following three years as the school's Assistant Athletic Director. In those leadership roles, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive interscholastic athletic program, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing, compliance, and student-athlete development. During his tenure, Bethlehem Catholic athletic programs experienced success at the district and state levels.

Tomaszewski's experience extends well beyond athletic administration. He began his career in education at Bethlehem Catholic in 2011 and has taught American History, World History, Honors American Government, AP Government & Politics, and World Geography. He has incorporated technology, project-based learning, primary-source research, and multiple learning styles into his classroom instruction. He has also served as a National History Day advisor, Debate Team coach, Mini-THON moderator, The Movement faculty advisor, and co-coordinator of intramurals.

A lifelong baseball coach, Tomaszewski has coached at both the high school and collegiate levels. He served as an Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Becahi from 2009–2016 and has extensive collegiate coaching experience, including serving as Head Pitching Coach at Moravian College/University for six seasons (2016-2022). His coaching background has reinforced his philosophy that athletics should develop leadership, teamwork, discipline, resilience, and character while complementing a student's academic experience.. He also spent many summers organizing and overseeing youth recreation programs in Fountain Hill.

Tomaszewski earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from Moravian College and completed graduate study at Kutztown University in Secondary Education/Social Studies. He subsequently earned a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Moravian College.

He is a member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Directors Association (PSADA) and holds a Registered Athletic Administrator Certificate through the NIAAA. He is continuing his professional development toward the NIAAA's certification in athletic administration( CMA), with goals of earning his Certified Master’s in Athletic Administration (CMAA) through the organization.

As Athletic Director at Pocono Mountain West, Tomaszewski is committed to carrying on the culture established before him by Mr. Brad Pensyl and Mr. Michael DelGrosso which is  centered upon student-athlete development, academic achievement, sportsmanship, safety, competitive excellence, and Panther Pride. His philosophy is grounded in the belief that athletics are an integral part of the educational experience and provide students with lifelong lessons in leadership, teamwork, perseverance, accountability, and character.

Ms. Evelyn Payne MS, LAT, ATC, CES, CCHW

Evelyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2012. She then received her Master's degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Lock Haven University in 2016. She is a certified Athletic Trainer by the BOC (Board of Certification) and licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine. She joined the St. Luke’s Sports Medicine team in 2016. Prior to 2016, she worked at Pocono Mountain West High School as an Athletic Trainer for 4 years. After joining St Luke’s, she worked at Dieruff High School in Allentown, PA before returning to Pocono Mountain West in 2020.

Evelyn’s previous experience includes working as a lifeguard, EMT and Ski Patroller at local Pocono resorts. She has been involved in emergency medicine since the age of 14 and enjoys inspiring young people to get involved as well.

Evelyn is a CPR Instructor, a Stop the Bleed Instructor, a Community Health Worker, a Corrective Exercise Specialist, and is certified in Mental Health First Aid.

In her free time, Evelyn enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and scuba diving.
